The captain of Cosedil Saturnia Acicastello is Davide Saitta from Catania. It was the blue and white who chose him and his deputy, Elia Bossi, the middle blocker in his second season with the Sicilian team. A double designation that arrived on the eve of the team’s first official outing, scheduled for tomorrow and Sunday, 7 and 8 September, on the occasion of the first Elio and Antonella tournament scheduled in Palmi, in which Omifer Palmi, Evolution Green Aversa and Gruppo Consoli Sferc Brescia, all three teams that will participate in the 2024/25 Serie A2 Credem Banca Championship.
“For me it is a great honor and a beautiful certificate of esteem from my teammates.” These are Saitta’s first words as captain, who adds: “For this beautiful group I remain the usual companion, and it is precisely the bond that is being created between us that makes everyday work easier. My concentration, the My sense of responsibility and commitment were already great when I agreed to be part of this project. Now, with a competent staff, a structured company and a strong team, I put an extra piece at their service.”
Of his teammates he says: “There is a lot of attitude towards work, we follow Placì’s instructions to the letter and try to put them into practice to the maximum. Tomorrow there will be the first of a series of tests waiting to start the championship. This will allow us to see on the field what we did at PalaCatania, comparing ourselves with teams that we will meet later in the season. The result will come if we do well, and it will be nice to get it, knowing however that we still have another month of hard work ahead of us.”
Bossi echoes him: “The appointment as deputy was unexpected for me and I’m happy about it. I thank my teammates for their trust and I can only say that I will do everything I can, on and off the pitch, to be of service to the team. This month we had the chance to get to know each other and we liked each other a lot. Perhaps the fact that I acted as a guide to the new arrivals to get to know the beauties of this land in the past season influenced me Acicastello and for Catania and I have made no secret of it even with them. Tomorrow will be a nice way to break the ice.” A message for the supporters: “In a month we will need all their support, we will have to lock down PalaCatania as much as possible, where the teams will come to play to the best of their ability to meet a team that makes no secret of its potential and its own objectives”.
