Sieco Service Akea Ortona held a delayed press conference, arriving just over a week after the resumption of training.
After the usual ritual photos and interviews in the area in front of the Ortona sports hall, we are finally ready to begin. On one side, arranged in a circle, there are the athletes, while “On the other side of the barricade”, ready to expose what next season will be, there are the new faces and confirmations of the Impavido staff. The event was surrounded by a large number of fans who came to meet their favorites in person.
The event’s masters of ceremony are President Andrea Lanci, who takes up the legacy of his unforgettable father Tommaso Lanci. Next to him are Giorgio Tenaglia, representing his father Rocco, Vice President unable to attend, Francesco De Nora, the new coach called to replace the historic figure of Nunzio Lanci, and the Sports Director Massimo D’Onofrio.
The first to speak is the latter: «This year we are experiencing something very different compared to the others», says Massimo D’Onofrio with a voice broken by emotion: «Usually, in this circumstance, here next to me there ‘it was Tommaso Lanci. He wanted this to be an important season and we are trying. Last year things didn’t go exactly as we wanted and our intent is to try again. We want to bring people back to the arena, recreate enthusiasm and win by playing the next season at our best.”
