The start of the new volleyball season is rapidly approaching, which will open on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September at the PalaWanny in Florence where the Super Cup will be staged, an event that offers the first trophy of the season, currently held by Sir Susa Vim Perugia.

The first month since the beginning of the preparation has ended in Pian di Massiano and the group is now complete. «The last week was important precisely because the team was completed: from here we start working, knowing that it seems a little longer than usual, but in any case there is never too much time, so there is it is the need not to work a lot, but to work well, trying to achieve the objectives and always having the mind focused on them to try to offer an optimal level of volleyball for this start of the season”

Taking stock of the preparation at the beginning of September is coach Angelo Lorenzetti, who is leading the Block Devils in daily sessions, increasing the intensity of training day by day and also working on tactics, thanks to the presence of all the interpreters in the field. «The intensity of the things that are done is higher; we must always look for it to be higher and more “game-like” to ensure that all the jumps we make are useful and functional jumps for what we do on Sunday in the game”

Last Friday the joint training with Cisterna was a useful opportunity to evaluate the “state of the art”, as well as the amalgam of the group. From the third set onwards the coach gave space to all the players by diversifying the setups on the court and trying various game patterns.

«The approach was certainly positive from everyone and then after the first games, there are always things to fix»

The group will continue to undergo double training sessions, divided into weights and ball in the morning and field work in the afternoon until Thursday. On Friday 6th the team will leave for Poland where the third edition of the “Bogdanka Volley Cup” tournament is scheduled to take place at the Hala Globus in Lublin on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September.
