Almost complete team for Gioiella Prisma Taranto: the Canadian spiker Brodie Hofer and the Cuban middle blocker Roamy Alonso have also reached Taranto, in view of the first test match on Saturday in Palmi.

Hofer showed up at training on Monday and has been joining the team for a few days now.

“Taranto is truly a very welcoming city and the climate is spectacular – declares the Canadian -, it’s good, and I’m really happy to know an authentic city in Southern Italy, where I’m already appreciating the people and the typical local products. The first training sessions with the team were very focused and fun, we are all focused on reaching the seasonal goal, and we will work hard for this. An intense period awaits us where we will test the work and synergies of the group.”

Even Roamy Alonso, welcomed yesterday evening at Brindisi airport, has already noticed the mild climate and a nice welcome: “I can’t wait to take a walk in this splendid city, I have already loved the little I have seen and I thank for the warm welcome, I am sure that we will do well and I am excited, happy to make myself available to the team immediately.”

Belgian center back Wout D’Heer will also join the team next week, having been busy in this period in his national team’s qualifiers for the European Championships.
