Italy called (again) Lorenzo Magliano. Second Italian expedition of the summer for the spiker born in 2005 from the Delta Group Porto Viro who starting tomorrow, Monday 26 August, will be involved with the National Under 20 team at the European Championships in the category in Serbia and Greece. Already a silver medalist in the Under 22 continental event last July (together with Eccher), Magliano – who is captain of the U20 selection – is looking for another podium placement, with the hope, this time, of being able to get on the highest step.
For the team led by Michele Zanin, the group stage journey will be particularly long and demanding, with seven matches to be played within ten days. Italy, included in Pool II, will play its matches in Arta (Greece) and will challenge in order Israel (26 August, 1.30 pm), Spain (27 August, 11 am), Slovenia (28 August, 4.30 pm), Bulgaria (30 August, 4.30 pm), Czech Republic (31 August, 4.30 pm), Scotland (2 September, 1.30 pm), Greece (3 September, 7 pm). The top two classified in the preliminary pools will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for Friday 6 September in Serbia, in Vrnjacka Banja, while the finals for gold and bronze will be played on Saturday 7 September, again in Vrnjacka Banja.
