Next Wednesday 21st August Cisterna Volley will welcome coach Michele Zanin’s Italian Under 20 team to its facility for the first of two joint training sessions scheduled at the Palasport in Via delle Provincia. For the public it will also be an opportunity to see some new faces of the team at work such as Yuga Tarumi, the Japanese spiker making his first experience in Italy, who joined Falasca’s group last week together with the setter Michele Baranowicz. Willner Rivas also arrived yesterday, a Venezuelan in his first year with Cisterna Volley and in the Super League.

The referees of the first joint training session, starting at 6.30pm (free entry), will be Lorenzo De Luca and Simona Scudiero.

“With its sports facilities and solid, high-level sports clubs – states mayor Valentino Mantini – Cisterna is increasingly becoming the home of events of national and international importance. A few days ago in the stadium we hosted the Rome – Naples friendly match of women’s Serie A football, in the past in the Palasport we hosted the Italian and Argentine national volleyball teams before the Tokyo Olympics, and this week, with pride and enthusiasm, we are preparing to experience the joint training sessions of the Italian U20 national team with Cisterna Volleyball. We can only be satisfied and wish a leading role in the upcoming Super League championship to the team that bears the name and gives prestige to our city”
