These are the last days before the start of preparations for the start of the A2 series championship. This year, Emma Villas Siena will begin their training on August 20th from Cascia, where they will carry out the first week of work before returning to Siena. The championship will begin on October 6, and the Sienese team will challenge Evolution Green Aversa on the first day, the match will be played at PalaEstra.

“I’m happy with how the team has been set up – says Federico Bonami, libero of Emma Villas Siena, who will play his third season with the white and blue shirt. – Important players have arrived, I am thinking for example of Nelli and Randazzo, and of Andrea Rossi who I have played against many times. We challenged Cattaneo on various occasions in the last championship, he is a player I really like. It’s nice that five players from last season remain, this will allow us to continue the line we followed in the past championship. Thomas Nevot is a great setter, he is a leader, I am happy to have him with us. He’s a nice player and also a nice person. Stefano Trillini experienced exponential growth last season, he is a great point of reference on and off the pitch, I am very happy to still be with him.”

Federico Bonami continues: “I don’t like making so many proclamations. In the past we have seen teams with important rosters who then failed to realize on the field what it seemed they could do. We must start from our certainties, which are our coach, our athletic trainer and a group of human beings who have a great desire to do well. The objective must be to do better than last year, we will all have to try to do an excellent job together. In the next championship there will also be other very strong teams, I’m thinking of Brescia, Cuneo, Catania, Ravenna, they are all teams that can aspire to win the tournament.”

Bonami returns to talk about the Sienese roster for the next championship: “We will have highly experienced players in the team, and this is always an important quality, even more so in the playoffs. Let’s think about the experience of Randazzo, Nelli, Rossi, a skill that can allow us to take a step forward”.

Today, among other things, Stefano Trillini, the “Marche wall”, turns 25. The volleyball player born in San Severino Marche was the protagonist of a very good season last year which he closed with 207 points scored, 10 winning serves, 55.2% productivity in attack and 65 blocks-points, for an average of 0 ,61 winning blocks per set.
