For a high-level team aiming to have its say in the A3 series, there is a need for a professional who is responsible for full-time monitoring the physical and athletic condition of the players: Negrini CTE Acqui Terme is pleased to announce Gregorio Cerutti as its new team athletic trainer.
Born in 1996, from Turin, graduated in Sports Sciences, he will move full time to Acqui Terme and will follow the first team of the A3 series in all training sessions, in all home and away matches, also collaborating with the youth sector.
In his first interview in Acqui, Gregorio began to talk about his experience in the world of sport and in the world of volleyball specifically: “In the last five years I have followed the men’s B series in San Mauro Torinese, in particular in the last two years my presence with the team it intensified. At the same time I collaborated with a youth basketball club. I started working as an athletic trainer after completing my three-year degree, while I also obtained a master’s degree. Before then I knew the world of volleyball as an athlete, but I was never a player or an enthusiast. I have always practiced another sport: for sixteen years I was a competitive mountain bike cyclist”
And it is precisely from the pedals that the vocation for sport and athletic training was born: “When I finished high school, my choice of university fell on Sports Sciences because, as an athlete, I was the first one who wanted to understand what he was doing. Then starting to study the human body I developed a passion for athletic training”
Gregorio continues by describing his first approach to the world of volleyball:
“In 2018 I was contacted by Davide Stocco, at the time coach of Fenera Chieri in the women’s A1 series, who proposed that I go with him to the weight room to observe his work. The following year I followed him to San Mauro Torinese where, over the course of two years, he gave me more and more space until he left his job for me.”
