After closing the Serie A3 roster, Folgore Massa Sorrento continues to arrange all the pieces of the new technical staff. The second coach, who is preparing to work closely with Nicola Esposito, will be Luca Buzzo. Native of Cagliari, the coach born in 1992 is fresh from his experience in Serie B among the ranks of Asd 4 Torri 1947 Ferrara. Previously Buzzo worked in “his” Sardinia, first in Sarroch, and then for two seasons at Ariete Vestis Oristano.
First adventure for you in Serie A3 as second coach: how did this opportunity arise?
“Let’s say that everything developed in a very short time, almost by chance. I was ready to go to Sweden, but suddenly the negotiation stalled. So, while I was at the Modena Volleyball Camp, the possibility of coming to Sorrento began to arise. President Ruggiero called me saying he had good references about me, and after discussing the project, we decided to start this experience together”.
Do you already know Mister Nicola Esposito?
“I had the opportunity to meet the coach a few weeks ago here in Sardinia. We chatted for a long time, and I can’t wait to start again with the new season.”
What are the objectives for the season that is about to begin?
“The goal is definitely to give my best. The level of the A3 Series has risen a lot, so we are aiming first and foremost to settle in the left side of the table, in the play-off area. Then, game after game, we will understand where we can get.”
What are your feelings about the team set up?
“The team is certainly made up of very interesting elements. I am convinced that athletes have great potential, and it will then be up to us to ensure that it is expressed to the maximum on the Taraflex. There is a lot of confidence, and I believe that over the course of the year we will be able to achieve important satisfactions.”
Have you already been to Sorrento? Do you already know the atmosphere on the Coast?
“I have never been to Campania, but I know perfectly well how spectacular the Gulf of Naples can be. The city of Sorrento needs no introduction: it is famous all over the world, and I can’t wait to get to know it more closely”
