With the closure of the Volley Mercato and the definition of the roster for the next Credem Banca A3 series championship, the coach of Rinascita Volley Lagonegro – Pino Lorizio – outlines the first point of the situation about a month from the start of the preparation which will be held at Palasport of Villa d’Agri.

Coach, are you satisfied with the operations completed?

“Absolutely yes. This year we moved ahead of last season and I am satisfied with the group that is emerging, uniting the guys who have earned their confirmation on the field and the new ones. The real challenge now is to become a “team” true.”

President Carlomagno and Sports Director Tortorella played on the right mix of youth and experience: was his advice fundamental for building the roster?

“We have total unity of intent with the entire corporate sector. I make my experience available and I would always like to deal with them, as we have done up to now. I always believe and expect that in a work team, in a club, decisions must be made together. Working in this way means that everyone is pulling in the same direction. This, in my opinion, is a fundamental step towards achieving the objectives.”

It’s very nice to see 16-year-old Vincenzo Simone among the members, an expression of the red and white youth sector: will you pay attention to the youth teams during the season to bring out other talents?

“My idea, fully embraced by the Club, is to better connect the youth sector with the first team, which must act as a driving force for the entire movement. I see in the youth sector the pool from which the first team will have to draw to try to have a sustainable management, especially for a club like ours which has ambitious objectives. Vincenzo’s call-up is not a coincidence: he is a very talented boy who must be looked after and cultivated boys from the youth sector will have the opportunity, if deserving, to spend a whole day with the first team group. But they will have to earn it with commitment, dedication, discipline, without forgetting the good academic results that they will still have to obtain.”

At the beginning of last season, you declared that you wanted to bring Lagonegro back to A2 within two years: could this be the good year?

“La Rinascita Lagonegro, due to tradition, skills, professionalism and correctness, deserves the stage of the A2 series.
