Genova will be able to go to bed as league leaders thanks to a come back victory over Perugia in the Saturday game. Trailed two sets to nil, Genova fought back to make it two wins in as many games before facing a couple of really tough ones against Santa Croce and Padova. Although Genova clearly had the momentum, it was Perugia which took the early initiatives in the tie-break (3-1). Genova reacted to lead 7-5 before it was all tied at 11 apiece on a Ranghieri block on Antonov. The Russian took immediate revenge with an ace (13-11) and a spike (15-12) to send Genova at the top of the A2. At least for one night.
