The five groups of the 2024-2025 Champions League were drawn today at the CEV headquarters in Luxembourg.
Pool D for Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia who will face the Turks of HalkBank Ankara, the French of Saint-Nazaire VB Atlantique and the Czechs of Jihostroj Ceske Budejovice.
“When commenting on a group that will start in a few months – explains the Juventus coach Angelo Lorenzetti – it is necessary to stay in the field of the hypothetical because no one today can imagine in what technical, tactical and physical conditions all the teams will arrive. The only fact we can underline at the moment is that all the teams that won their respective championships last year were included in the group. From this consideration we can deduce the need to arrive at the starting moment with a level of play close to the maximum, knowing full well that, with the new formula, every point of every single set can make the difference. This is what we want to do and we will work as hard as we can to be ready at the starting line.”
HalkBank Ankara is certainly the most accredited opponent for the Block Devils, but great attention, as is obvious in a competition like the Champions League, must also be dedicated to the other two teams in the Pool, both, as told by coach Lorenzetti, winners of their national title.
