Massimo Eccheli will be the coach of MINT Vero Volley Monza also in the 2024-2025 season. The “record-breaking coach” from Monza, who led the men’s representative of the Consortium to the first continental trophy in its history, the 2022 CEV Cup, will sit on the rossoblù bench for the fifth consecutive season.

Eccheli’s record as coach of the Monza team in the sporting year just ended is largely positive, with 3 finals reached: SuperLega Credem Banca, Del Monte® Coppa Italia and CEV Challenge Cup. In the next season, the Brianza team will be involved in 4 competitions: SuperLega Credem Banca – starting on the last weekend of September -, CEV Champions League (first time in the men’s history of the Vero Volley Consortium), Del Monte® Coppa Italia and Del Monte® Supercoppa Italiana.

THE CARREER
Massimo Eccheli’s career began in 1986 in the youth team of his hometown team, ASA Cinisello Balsamo. In 1988 he moved to Pallavolo Gonzaga Milano, where he remained until 1990. After a sporting year at the GEAS of Sesto San Giovanni and two at the Polisportiva Segratese in men’s B2, in 1993 he returned to Milan, where he remained until 1998, leading the youth teams men of Milan Volley first, those of Tally Gonzaga later, up to Asystel, with which he obtained a promotion to B1 in 1996-1997. A year in Serie C at the men’s Pro Victoria Monza, where he achieved promotion to B2, then his return in 1999-2000 to Asystel where he was assistant coach to Luca Monti in Serie A2 (at the end of the year he was promoted to A1) and the season next he was on Gianpaolo Montali’s staff (Scudetto final lost against Treviso in 2000-2001). In those years in Milan he was also Technical Director of the youth teams until 2001 and always coach until 2007. After becoming Technical Director of the Lombardy Regional Selection, a position he held until 2010, Eccheli moved first to GS Agliatese and subsequently to Volleyball Segrate, where she remained until 2015. The 2015-2016 season was once again female, with the youth teams of Pro Patria Milano, while in 2016-2017 the call came from the Vero Volley Consortium. The winning Milanese coach, capable of reaching the National Finals 13 times in his career and winning 12 regional titles, won his first Italian title with the Under 16 men’s team from Monza, Vero Volley Banco BPM in the 2017-2018 season, thus becoming the first coach to bring a tricolor to Vero Volley.
