“The club aimed to have a competitive team and this is what we built. It is in fact a group that can fight to win the championship”, words of mister Camillo Placì who thus comments on the staff of Cosedil Saturnia Acicastello, put together by sporting director Piero D’Angelo.
“Obviously we will have to compete with other highly competitive teams, just look at what Siena, Brescia, Ravenna and Cuneo have built, just to name a few – continues Placì -. It will be an interesting championship and the most important part will be the final phase, that of the playoffs, when in fact the whole season will be played. We will have to get there in excellent physical shape.”
On August 8, the team and technical staff will meet for the first time to kick off the training camp which, as per Saturnia tradition, will be held at the Sigonella Inn. The first sessions will concern the physical tests defined with the athletic trainer and then begin with the preparatory work, with periodic tests. Eight weeks of training before the start of the championship. “We have planned all the work for the month of August, we are finishing defining all the friendlies and the team’s participation in the tournaments that will be held in September.”
“These first few weeks – adds the biancoblu coach – will also be fundamental for cementing relationships within the group for a journey that will be long, with the aim of giving our all to the end”.
The first technical session will be at PalaCatania on Monday 12 August, with strictly open doors: “My training sessions are always with open doors and I invite both coaches and fans who want to get to know the team to join us. Even in training, if there is it’s the public, the competitive quality of the group rises a lot.”
