Aurispa Lecce officially announces the hiring of opposite player Gaetano Penna.
Born in 2004, 206 cm tall, Penna has just won promotion to Serie A2 with Macerata. He played in the Lube Volley youth team, making his first team debut in the 2021/22 season. The spiker was also called up to the Under 20 national team, with which he won gold at the European Youth Festival (EYOF) 2022 and then the European Championships in the category.
Penna talks about himself, explaining the reasons that led him to choose the Salento team: “Aurispa Lecce was the team that was most interested in me and that had already been following me for some time. Antonio Scarascia (sporting director, ed.) called me telling me that they wanted to focus on me and I wanted to embrace this project, because it gives me energy and makes me feel important.”
“The personal and team objective – adds the opposite – is to do the maximum possible and achieve the best result. I am superstitious and prefer not to go too far, but we will work to obtain the best. We will try to create a united team, close-knit, who plays well and above all who has fun.”
Then the message arrives to the fans: “I’m waiting for everyone at the stadium, because I have a bit of a fiery soul and I like the Leones support.”
At the same time, Aurispa Lecce announces that the commercial partnership with DelCar Automotive has come to an end, which will not be the title sponsor in the 2024/25 season. The company thanks the owner Mario Ciardo and the entire DelCar family for supporting the Salento association and for contributing to achieving the sporting objectives in the recently concluded season.
From today, therefore, the company takes the name of Aurispa Lecce.
