Together with established players who know the category well, the red and white team is enriched with young people with great potential such as Luca Pozzebon, born in 2005. The new setter will have the opportunity to grow by working alongside Marsili, playing in an important league like the A2. “For me it is a great satisfaction to have been called by a team like Macerata, I am very happy with this opportunity,” says Pozzebon. “I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and play at the Banca Macerata Forum. I arrive in a historic volleyball club, which over the years has been able to build a solid base and this is confirmed by the promotion achieved last season. Then we know that Macerata is always very attentive to the growth of young people, it is one of the aspects that convinced me to accept the red and white call; here I will be given the opportunity to develop as an athlete but also as a person.”
For the young setter it will be the first club experience away from Veneto: originally from Montebelluna, Pozzebon grew up sportingly in Volley Treviso, as DG Italo Vullo explains, “We have brought to Macerata a boy of great talent, who comes from one of the clubs most valid in Italy for work in the youth sector. He is a young man who already has several call-ups to the national team and will be able to be very useful during the season.” Pozzebon also showed off for blue where he was then among the protagonists of the Under 18 European Championship won against France in 2022; while last year he won the silver medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival and competed in the Under 19 World Championships in Argentina.
