Andrea Galliani returned to Pool Libertas Cantù in December 2023 after an absence lasting 11 years, during which he played on the SuperLega and Serie A2 taraflexes. And also for the 2024/2025 season the spiker from Desio will play in the shadow of the bell tower of San Paolo for the second consecutive championship.
“Andrea is one of the players with whom I spent the most time in the weight room when he was here last time – confesses Coach Alessandro Mattiroli –, and I know him well from both a human and technical point of view. I trust him a lot, and when I learned that he and Luca Butti were part of the team I thought they were an excellent starting point because they are people I adore.”
These, however, are the player’s words: “I am happy to stay in Cantù for my second consecutive season. The next championship will be challenging, but it will largely involve new teams, like us. We’ll have to see how the mix goes. The top 3-4 will have a top championship, but the level in general is high, and gets higher every year. It will be a battle every Sunday. We made some bets, but I think they are guys who want to work, to be seen and work. The group can do well, but many teams are well equipped. So we will have to work very hard, even more so than in other years. But the level will be high in training, and when you work well during the week the results come.”
