To lead the attack of the red and whites, the Club has chosen to focus heavily on a quality player like Alberto Cavasin. Born in 2001, the opposite grew up sportingly in Treviso where he played in Serie C and B, before moving to Trento in A3 in the 2020/2021 season, where he also encountered Volley Banca Macerata as an opponent. “Last year in Sorrento was an unlucky championship, I wasn’t able to play against Macerata due to an injury but I remember the match in Trento. The red and white team has always been among the best in A3, with a structured club and I am not surprised by its move to A2: I am convinced that Macerata is the best solution for me to return to the top”.
In the 2021/2022 season Cavasin had an important experience in Finland, but now he begins his first adventure in the Marche, “It is a region that fascinates me a lot, I am happy to have the opportunity to discover it and live in a city like Macerata”. In red and white the opposite will also bring his experience in A2, a championship he experienced with Motta di Livenza before arriving in Sorrento, “Every season and every team has its own story but those who have experienced the A2 know that there is a big difference with the A3, there is a different type of game on the pitch. There are some aspects we will focus on in training and we who know the championship will try to help our teammates; Patience will be needed but we have a good squad and I’m sure we can adapt to the level required in A2.”
DG Italo Vullo comments on Cavasin’s arrival, “He is a player of great perspective, with an important physique, who in Motta in A2 demonstrated that he is worthy of the best opponents in the category. He signed a long contract with us confirming how much we believe in him, we are aiming for it a lot.”
