Stefano Chillemi and Avimecc Volley Modica will be together again in the next A3 series championship. The white and blue management, in fact, has decided to reconfirm the captain who, as a true Modican, is very attached to his city’s shirt.
“We are very keen that in Avimecc Volley Modica the imprint of Modica and territoriality always remains – underline the managers of the Modica association – and Stefano Chillemi fully represents all of this. Stefano was born volleyball speaking with Volley Modica and this for us who try not to make changes in the roster every year, but to maintain the ‘hard core’ as much as possible means giving continuity to the project born in previous seasons. Furthermore, Stefano has always shown us his attachment to the shirt and undisputed professional skills, seriousness both in training and in matches, so his reconfirmation is almost automatic due to the values he has always managed to express.”
For Chillemi, therefore, next season will be the sixth consecutive season with the blue and white shirt and the fourth year as captain.
“I am very happy to still be part of this team – comments Stefano Chillemi – what will start in a few weeks will be my sixth season in Serie A3 with this shirt that I now feel sewn to my skin and the fourth as captain. My personal objective which coincides with the company one is certainly to try to improve the result of last season where we managed to reach the play offs. The conditions for having a good championship are all there – he continues – even if the level of the A3 series championship becomes more and more competitive year after year. I am very happy with the reconfirmation of coach Enzo Distefano, because he is a coach who never spares himself and gives his all to the players both from a technical – tactical and human point of view. As a Modican – concludes Stefano Chillemi – it will be an honor for me to be the captain for the fourth consecutive year and to represent the City of Modica in an important championship like the A3 series. Being the only local athlete representing my city will definitely have a special flavor. I take this opportunity to greet all our fans, I wish them a good summer and I look forward to seeing them excited as always at PalaRizza.”
