A warrior on the Prata field. A fighter in name and in fact who however also uses a lot of clarity and is a thoughtful person. This is Filippo Guerriero, born in 2003, who will play the role of setter in the roster entrusted to the care of Coach Mario Di Pietro.
Genovese from Arenzano comes from that hotbed of talent that is Colombo Volley Genova, the home club of Luca Porro, with whom he shared his youth years, winning a U14 championship and a second place in U17. Then the experience in Serie B with the club in which he grew up and last year the transfer, also for study reasons, to the province of Treviso where he then wore the colors of GSP Carnio Povegliano, crossing paths with Coach Di Pietro who he appreciated his qualities and wanted him with him in this new competitive adventure.
“Luca Porro had anticipated it to me, but I noticed it immediately – these are Guerriero’s first words in yellow-blue – upon entering PalaPrata you can breathe the air of a well-organised and well-structured club. His testimony greatly favored my choice to come here to Prata. “
Going into the technical aspect: what do you also expect in terms of personal growth from this new year?
“For me it’s a big leap because I’ve always played in Serie B. I believe that finding myself included in a Serie A2 roster is a great opportunity for me to grow both humanly and on a personal level. I am aware that I will find myself in a different world than the one I was used to and I will certainly have to adapt to the level of play, the speed and the type of commitment required and the efforts that this entails. But I can’t wait to get started and test myself. I’m very motivated, I hope I can give my contribution during the season and grow.”
What type of player are you?
“When I’m on the pitch I tend to be very focused and prioritize precision rather than creative flair.”
Off the pitch how do you spend your time?
“In August I will start my third year of university. I study Radiology Techniques at the Treviso branch of the University of Padua. When I’m not playing I love playing the guitar which I learned by myself and consequently spending time in the company of friends. “
