A big man at the court of Massimo Eccheli: Osmany Juantorena will be part of the spiker department of MINT Vero Volley Monza for the 2024/2025 season. Born in Cuba but naturalized Italian, Juantorena is ready to live a new experience in the Italian championship, after the seasons played with Trento (2009-2013), Civitanova (2015-2022) and Modena (2023-2024). Juantorena’s formidable palmares include, among other trophies, 6 Italian Championships, 6 Italian Cups, 3 Champions Leagues and 5 Club World Cups. Osmany Juantorena was captain of the Italian national team for a long time, for which he played until the Tokyo Olympics , and with which he won the historic silver in Rio 2016.

Il 23 settembre 2010 diventa cittadino italiano. L’8 aprile 2011 ottiene il cambio di Federazione di origine (dalla Federazione Cubana alla FIPAV). Esordisce in nazionale italiana nell’estate 2015.
