A lively back-and-forth in the hospitality room of the Eurosuole Forum, peppered with entertaining skits in front of a good number of fans, was the backdrop to the press conference to present Santiago Orduna, the new setter for Cucine Lube Civitanova thanks to the signing of a two-year contract. Speakers at the 6pm vernissage included Simona Sileoni, president of the Club, CEO Albino Massaccesi and CEO Beppe Cormio. Also in the front row was head coach Giampaolo Medei, who in the final greeting emphatically underlined the characteristics of Orduna and such a well-assorted department.
Simona Sileoni (president of A.S. Volley Lube):
“Lube has always felt close to the Argentine players, we have demonstrated it over the years and today it’s Orduna’s time, who will be able to represent a point of reference for our young people with his experience. His career places him among the most important setters in the Italian championship, we are very pleased that Santiago accepted this challenge with such determination and the enthusiasm of a young boy. He will not only be a beacon for our emerging players, but he will bring his flair to the pitch and balance in the locker room. We will have to work a lot to grow and consolidate ourselves, tasks that certainly won’t scare him. I’m sure that in the most delicate moments he will put his knowledge at the service of the team, the fans will take little time to love him. His mentality will infect everyone in the environment.”

“The management’s words give me even more conviction about the goodness of the choice and my objectives. I have never had any doubts, you can’t say no to Lube! I see this new experience as the culmination of a journey, but also as a new beginning and a source of pride. With Boninfante, a boy who has volleyball in his blood, there will be great collaboration. In my career I have also refused important offers to remain a protagonist and not play second fiddle, but when I get to my age what matters is making myself available to the group and sharing what volleyball has taught me. The coach will make the choices, but the primary objective will be to support the Club and his teammates. I played with many athletes with a history at Lube and I came many times as an opponent to the Eurosuole Forum.
