It was practically already a certainty, but now it’s official: Daniele Morato will be the first coach of Delta Group Porto Viro also in the next sports season. A confirmation, that of the 35-year-old coach from Lecco, strongly desired by President Veronese and his entourage in light of the excellent results of the year just ended, but also to give substance to the new corporate project of re-founding and rejuvenating the squad.
Before successfully taking to the stage of the Credem Banca men’s Serie A2, Morato in fact won practically everything there was to win at youth level with Brugherio (last triumph in the 2021/2022 Junior League), as well as having been provincial selector for the Fipav Committee of Monza and Brianza, regional selector of the Fipav Lombardy Committee, collaborator in the Northern area for the men’s national selections, second coach of the National Students team. In short, a coach who knows how to work very well with young people but who now also has the necessary experience to face a tough and competitive championship like the cadet one.
“I am grateful to President Veronese, DG Pavan and Massimo Zambonin for the trust they have placed in me – states Morato on the occasion of the renewal – Already in January they spoke to me about future projects and immediately involved me. There has always been unity of purpose between us, before and especially now. I like how volleyball is experienced at the Delta, seriously, in a professional way, but with the right lightness and the desire to always have fun. In the building, which is practically my first home, I was put in the position of being able to work to the best of my ability. Outside, I felt as if I had always lived in Porto Viro and this is thanks to all the beautiful people I have met in recent months.”
There are nine players who have said goodbye to Porto Viro in recent weeks (Garnica, Zorzi, Barone, Zamagni, Barotto, Bellei, Tiozzo, Sette, Charalampidis), the Delta Group that is being born will inevitably be very different from that of last year . Younger and more talented but perhaps also more unpredictable in performance: “Let’s not forget that even in the first part of last season we struggled a bit, each group needs time to create the automatisms and the right alchemy – comments Morato – The team next year it will be younger, it’s true, but we tried to build it with guys of absolute value. For example, we are proud of the fact that some of them are currently in the Under 22 national team, just as there will be others who have already competed in the category and who have the desire and motivation to continue to improve.
