The staff of the Serie A2 Tinet Prata for the 2024 – 2025 season is taking shape. One of the traditionally most important pieces is that of the Deputy Coach who for the season that is about to begin will be covered by a new face for Volley Prata.
This is 29-year-old Luca Vallortigara, a native of Marano Vicentino. After a career as a spiker, which started from the youth teams of Schio and then continued in Montecchio Maggiore, he began to lead teams from the bench at a very young age, precisely in the latter club. Here he meets the new Head Coach Mario Di Pietro, with whom he creates an excellent bond. A bond that favors his transfer to Prata where he is preparing to experience his first season as an Assistant Coach of Serie A2.
“I am happy and honored by the trust that has been placed in me – says a smiling Vallortigara – my coaching career has taken place entirely in the youth sector of Montecchio Volley. I still knew Prata from the Serie A3 days and then this year I came to play a tournament with the U15s. The thing that has always impressed me, and which was then confirmed when I got to know the club from the inside, was the organisation, the professionalism and the great seriousness of this club.”
Can you help us get to know Luca better off the pitch?
“My working career began in the catering field as a chef. Then, thanks to Montecchio, I was able to dedicate myself completely to sporting activity and in the meantime I am graduating in Sports Science. Off the pitch I like to keep active and go for long walks. Then I love following all sports in general.”
Do you want to greet your new fans?
“With great pleasure. I know that the team is followed a lot and is supported with affection and warmth and this makes me happy. Personally, I can’t wait for the new season to start so I can get to know and make myself known to the whole environment.”
General Director Dario Sanna is also happy. “The hiring of Vallortigara – he underlines – brings to our club a motivated, young and prospective coach, who has already demonstrated that he knows how to work well and in whom Di Pietro trusts. Furthermore, Luca has already given his availability to participate in our initiatives related to the youth sector such as the VP College and the newly created Academy Volley Prata, bringing with him an undoubted professionalism.”
