Allianz Milano is proud to present its new signing the French spiker Yacine Louati. Olympic champion in Tokyo, he played in Belgium, Turkey and Poland as well as in France and Italy.
The 32-year-old comes from an excellent season in the Polish PlusLiga, which saw him among the protagonists wearing the Asseco Resovia shirt of coach Giampaolo Medei. Resovia, which exited the Champions League in the group with Trento (a team it however managed to beat), then took part in and won the Cev Cup, eliminating among other things its compatriots Zawiercie who had excluded Allianz Milano from the final phase of the competition. Finishing in fourth place in the PlusLiga, Resovia stopped in the playoff semi-final against Jastrzebski Wegiel (who went on to win the championship). An elimination with great regret, given that Louati’s team was unable to field the opposite player, also French, Stéphen Boyer, for the seminal match and the final for third place, due to a serious ankle injury. Born in 1992, 198 cm, Yacine Louati has already played two seasons in the Italian Super League, one in Padua in 2018/19 and the following in Monza the following year, totaling 530 points in total with an average of 11 per game and resulting in 3 matches MVP.
Here are his first words as a new Allianz Milano player.
Yacine, you have agreed to return to Italy to achieve new goals, what do you expect from the experience with Milan?
“I agreed to come to Milan because I was favorably impressed by the level that the team has reached this season. In this way I would like to make my contribution to achieving the company’s ambitious goals.”
This 2024 will not be a summer like the others for you, there are the Olympics at home in Paris, arriving with gold around your neck in Tokyo, will the goal be to confirm yourself?
“I can’t hide that I’m very excited for this summer. We are already qualified for Paris playing at home, but we will still have to work hard during the VNL to raise our level of play and find a way to win again. As always, there will be many strong teams competing for the title, but we will give everything to get to August without any regrets.”
