Mint Vero Volley Monza is the second finalist of the SuperLega Credem Banca 2024 Play Offs. The team from Brianza completes its incredible comeback, ousting the outgoing Italian champions thanks to the tie break victory at the Trento Arena after 150 minutes of play actual. An already historic result in itself, taking into account that the Brianza club had never before achieved this goal with its men’s team, but absolutely legitimate at the end of a series with Eccheli’s team increasingly convinced of its capabilities along the way . Access to the match against Perugia, which will start on Thursday 18 April in Umbria (by virtue of Sir Susa Vim’s best position in the regular season) comes at the end of a thrilling match, dominated by the guests in the first two sets. What makes the challenge epic are the pride and play of Itas Trentino, able to get back on top in the following fractions, thanks to a monumental Rychlicki (31 points) and a very cold Kozamernik. In the fifth set, however, Monza reversed the inertia again with Takahashi, not taking advantage of four match points, before closing 17-15 with the Japanese, voted MVP of the marathon.

Maybe we didn’t imagine we’d get this far, but we were aware that we had the tools to compete against everyone. This year we had the goal of winning the Challenge and, even if we didn’t succeed, we achieved important results at a national level such as the Italian Cup Final. After the match against Civitanova, we were sure we could play to the fullest. Maar’s return allowed us to play with three spikers, which gave us more confidence, allowing us to prevail in three sporting battles. The boys always won and lost in the same way, fighting without giving up and forcing the opponent to always give their all.”
