CUS Cagliari’s first regular season in the A3 Credem Banca volleyball series has already ended.
Starting in mid-August, the journey of CUS Cagliari’s first Serie A championship was a whirlwind of emotions, up-and-down results and goals first glimpsed and then achieved.
In the end, in fact, what was only a mirage this summer became real.
At the halfway point of the season everything was clear, then a decline during the second round. But not so strong as to compromise the good things the university students have shown.
And so, service after service, led by Captain Menicali, the rossoblù won the Play Offs in their first season in A3.
Certainly the top part of the table was not the goal at the start of the season, but once it was established during the work the boys wanted it badly and brought it home, especially when they were supported by the warm public of their arena.
Of course, moving forward in the Play Off tour de force will be complicated but, as we have already seen during this season, Ammendola’s boys have learned to be ambitious.
And after this heart-pounding season until the last day, tomorrow Wednesday 3 April 2024 at 7pm, the first leg of the much-coveted Serie A3 play-offs will be staged at the Pala Pirastu.
At home, in front of its fans, CUS will face the Venetians of Personal Time San Donà di Piave against whom, during the season, it has always been defeated.
It doesn’t matter, because Coach Ammendola knows well that the playoffs are a thing if: the results collected up to this point are irrelevant and the boys are prepared to sell their lives dearly.
Ranked in sixth place in the white group, the Cagliari rossoblù will meet the second-placed teams in their group. The winner of the match will advance to the quarterfinals to challenge the winner of Lecce-Lagonegro, a match from the blue group pairings.
The return match against Personal Time San Donà di Piave is scheduled for Saturday 6 April at Pala Barbazza.
A double challenge not to be missed, in which the rossoblù of CUS Cagliari will do everything to raise the bar of a season that they want to extend as much as possible.
