There are less than two days left until the Final of the Del Monte® Supercoppa Serie A3. From 5.00 pm on Saturday 30 March, in fact, Gabbiano Mantova and OmiFer Palmi will compete to raise to the sky the second Serie A3 title of the season, after Palmi’s victory in the Italian Cup at the Final Four in Fano. Here are the words, full of enthusiasm and emotion, from the coaches and captains two days before the event.
Edoardo Gola (Captain Gabbiano Mantova): “It is a privilege to participate in an event to which only two teams are admitted in all of Italy. I also believe it is the right recognition for the journey we have made up to this point. It’s wonderful to be there and we won’t be able to do anything but play with a smile. We will face a team that demonstrated in the Del Monte® Coppa Italia that it has something more than the other participants. They are physical and the “home” factor will certainly favor them. We will do everything to bring home the cup. We will play with the enthusiasm and determination that have characterized us throughout the championship. May the best team win and good volleyball to everyone.”
Simone Serafini (Coach Gabbiano Mantova): “It will be a wonderful experience, it is the finish line of a journey that led us to qualify, a reward for our consistency, demonstrated throughout the year, which brought us many points and the victory of the White Group. It is the right reward for this group, author of an already stratospheric year. The greatest credit in everything we are doing goes to the boys, who have been wonderful since day one, as athletes but above all as people. Now we’re going to play on the pitch of a very strong team, which deserved to win a trophy this year. It will be tough, but we are fine, we are excited and ready to go and play all our cards, with a calm mind and with the great satisfaction of having managed to reach the Final”.
Carmelo Gitto (Captain OmiFer Palmi): “We are very happy to play the Del Monte® Supercoppa, but above all to play it in Palmi in front of our fans. We will have to be good at transforming pressure into competitive spirit, because Mantova is a very strong and square team which, by taking first place in the White Group, has demonstrated on the field that it is the best in this Regular Season.
Andrea Radici (OmiFer Palmi Coach): “We are preparing to experience a match of value for the prestigious trophy up for grabs and for the values expressed by the contenders throughout the season. Our team goal is to live up to a sporting event that certifies the great and qualified effort of a club
