The idol of PalaBarton remains here!
Sir Susa Vim Perugia announces the renewal for another two seasons with the Ukrainian spiker Oleh Plotnytskyi. After the renewal with Simone Giannelli and the one with Roberto Russo, with whom Oleh arrived in Perugia in 2019, the company of president Sirci picks a new fundamental goal of the future project by ensuring the performances of the twenty-six year old native of Vinnycja until 2026.
Five seasons of love and great volleyball that Oleh has experienced so far in Perugia. Five seasons that saw the incredible talent of the lethal left-footed boy blossom, growing dramatically year after year with hard work in the gym until he became a complete four-place player with an international scope.
4 Italian Super Cups, 2 Italian Cups and 2 Club World Cups are Plotnytskyi’s trophy case with Perugia, a repeat MVP (only in this last season both at the Club World Cup and in the Italian Cup), someone with a cold blood on the pitch (as in the best traditions of Eastern European volleyball), someone who off the court is the friend that everyone would like to have, a concentration of enthusiasm and friendliness that has struck a chord with the PalaBarton public to whom he dedicates every ace and every point.
This is his Perugia, a sort of second home that he lives in together with his partner Anna and his firstborn Svyatoslav, a sort of miniature Oleh. A beautiful family, always present at all home games and with whom Oleh spends his free time from training and matches.
A story that will continue in the next two seasons.
“All these years here are a lot of stuff!”, exclaims Plotnytskyi. “I arrived in Perugia in 2019 and now I feel like a Perugian, I really feel like I’m at home. A feeling that I really like just as I really like the fact of having renewed with the club again. I felt great trust in me from the president and the club, I can only thank them and I can only be happy because it is a sign that I am growing and that I am on the right path. In big teams like Perugia you can’t stay for long if you don’t demonstrate something important and I’m happy to be able to say that my history with the club continues.”
Oleh was 22 years old when he showed up at PalaBarton for the first time with the black and white shirt.
“Yes, I arrived really young and the first dreams I had, such as winning the first trophy or becoming MVP of an event or playing in the Champions League, I saw them come true here.
