After ten days of competitive break at Tinet there is hunger for matches and points that count. The yellow-blues took the opportunity to train as best they could in this period of time, but now they can’t wait to demonstrate all their progress on the taraflex and, after morning training, they left for Santa Croce sull’Arno where they will visit the Wolves.
A field known as PalaParenti which left bittersweet memories in the Tinet household. The satisfaction of having violated it last year in the regular season, but also the bitterness of having ended last season’s playoff journey here.
In the first match there was a 3-0 with the first two sets played to the advantage and the third which saw Prata take the lead and take home a clear 25-18. Then the young opposite Lawrence stood out, capable of scoring 19 points. But the Tuscan team is an interesting mix of old foxes of the parquet such as the former Azzurri Manuel Coscione, playmaker, and Simone Parodi, spiker, as well as the central defender Cargioli. Together with them, the young Italian U20 players: the central defender Pardo Mati and the libero Luca Loreti who last weekend in the blue shirt came second in the Wezva tournament, losing 3-2 to France in the final. Both received individual recognition. Mati was elected best center of the event and Loreti best libero.
The Tuscans are on a positive streak (5 wins in the last 6 matches) and compared to the first leg they will also be able to count on a different 4th place diagonal thanks to the return of captain Simone Colli and the November addition of Estonian international Karli Allik.
“The fact of not being involved in matches – says Tinet libero Carlo De Angelis – allowed us to raise the pace of training even more and to push a lot. In addition to working in large quantities, we also worked with a lot of quality, but as usual the field will speak and tell us where we are strong and where we still need to work.” And the pitch on Wednesday at 7.00 pm will be the PalaParenti of Santa Croce “It will necessarily be a different match compared to the first leg, also because they will express their best volleyball within the friendly walls. Then we know that they have strengthened a lot and in the last period they are playing really well. I consider this commitment comparable in level of difficulty to what on paper are the big matches with the top of the class”
