Belluno Volley prepares the ransom operation. Because on Sunday 7 January (4pm, at the Spes Arena), in the first act of 2024, the rhinos are called to face Moyashi Garlasco: a team that, despite the difficulties encountered so far in the championship, won the first leg in four sets . And he snatched the full spoils from the blue and whites, who stumbled, in the Lomellina, on one of the most opaque evenings of their journey. For this reason, they seek revenge. Even more so if the boundaries of the (five) previous ones are expanded. In fact, even the total count smiles on Garlasco: three victories against the two Dolomites.

The first meeting dates back to 5 December 2021, when the Belluno team managed to prevail in a tie-break at the “Ravizza” sports hall in Pavia. Garlasco then took revenge in the return leg, which took place on 13 March 2022 at the Spes Arena (1-3). The Lambioi Arena was also the scene of a beautiful victory for the hosts: 3-1 comeback, on 30 October 2022, while on 29 January last year, a wild Giannotti scored 23 points (now the opposite is in San Donà) dragged his team to victory in the fifth set. The last act? It’s recent history: last October 22nd, Moyashi prevailed with a score of 3-1, despite the good start of a Belluno Volley team capable of winning the opening set (30-28).

Despite the notable individuals (from the director Peslac to the striker Javier Martinez, passing through the captain Puliti), the rhinos’ next opponents occupy the penultimate position, with a balance of 3 victories and 10 defeats. And on the bridge there is no longer coach Vittorio Bertini, but Ivan Galimberti. But history teaches us: never underestimate the “Garlacticos”.
