Pool Libertas Cantù’s spiker Lorenzo Magliano was called up by the Under 20 National Team coach Michele Zanin to the training camp first, and then to the WEVZA Tournament, which is valid as a qualification for the category’s European Championship. The player, Captain of the national youth team, will reach Rome on Wednesday 3 January, and then, after five days of retreat, leave for Frankfurt (Germany), home of the matches, to return to Italy on Sunday 14 January.
The Serie A Volleyball League has ordered the postponement of the Pool Libertas Cantù matches valid for the Serie A2 Credem Banca Championship on 7 and 14 January, against BCC Tecbus Castellana Grotte and Consar Ravenna respectively. The recovery dates will be communicated as soon as possible.
“The call-up of Lorenzo Magliano to the Under 20 national team, of which he is the current Captain, makes us very proud – says President Ambrogio Molteni – because he is a young man from 2005 who will wear the blue shirt for the umpteenth time in Frankfurt, and this demonstrates once again the validity of our policy of raising the young promises of National Volleyball in Cantù. It also confirms the goodness of our choices regarding the backbone of our team, and the path we are taking without spending millions, but with a prudent spending policy that has seen us in Serie A2 for 12 consecutive years without making promises at the start of the season and which then did not come true. Lorenzo has started almost all the matches played so far this year and has noticed the toughness and very high technical level of the Serie A2 championship. We wish him and the entire Italian team good luck in being able to return victorious from this important event.”
