In a few days it will be time to take to the court again for coach Marzola’s training. After the dull performance put in on the field on debut, a difficult opponent arrives for Geetit. Brunetti, new Rossoblu captain, gives a report on the start of the season, his relationship with his teammates and his new life as a “worker-athlete”.
You are the “oldest” player in the team, and you also have very important experience in the A2 and A1 series. What relationship has been established with your classmates?
Even though I am the oldest in the group, I must say that the relationship with the others is good: I already knew some of them, so it was easier, but even with the “younger” ones there is a strong understanding. It’s always nice to spend time together, we’re a really good group, and this helps both on and off the pitch. As captain I hope they are happy with my work: I try to bring a bit of my experience and give some more advice to convey safety and serenity to everyone.
Last year an injury forced you to abandon the championship at the beginning. How do you feel now?
I want to put the injury behind me: last year after 10 days I broke my tendon and had to be operated on, but then I came back. I’ve worked a lot, and this year I’m trying to iron out the remaining problems. The pre-season went well, except for some small ailments due to physical preparation.
I know you’re doing an internship at Lavoropiù, what’s life like for grown-ups?
I started this internship a month ago and I really like it: I’m in a beautiful and stimulating environment, plus what I do is what I studied for. Although it is not easy for an athlete to stay behind the desk, this is part of the “world of adults”, and we need to start understanding how it works. In this job the desk is very important, so I gladly accept it.
