From the A22 derby to the Adige derby, always with the aim of taking a step forward on the path that leads to the championship debut. After the encouraging 4-0 success against Modena last Saturday, in the late afternoon of Wednesday 18 October the men’s Itas Trentino will travel to Verona to take part in the last test match of the preparation period.
Four days after the away match in Cisterna di Latina, where the yellow-blues will begin to defend the Scudetto won on 17 May, coach Fabio Soli will therefore be able for the first time to have the entire roster at his disposal, which will face the challenge at home against the ambitious Rana Verona with just one training session behind him (today’s) carried out with the full group. All six players returning from the recent Olympic qualifiers with their respective national teams (D’Heer, Kozamernik, Lavia, Michieletto, Podrascanin and Sbertoli) will therefore be usable and will probably play at least a couple of sets, very useful for finding the first agreements with the rest of the group .
“It is in fact the only opportunity we will have to start assembling the ideas of our game in view of the first championship match and, compatibly with the needs of each individual player, we will try to exploit it properly – explained coach Fabio Suns – . For this reason, the only objective of training is to begin to have that volleyball mentality that we would like to have during the entire season; there will be time for everything else.”
Waiting for Itas Trentino will be a Verona that already has a few more days of working together in its legs; last weekend the La Scala team of the fresh former player Džavoronok participated in the Jesi Volley Cup, beating Milan 3-1 in the semi-final before losing the final act of the quadrangular match in the Marche against Civitanova, again in four sets.
The joint training will be broadcast in live streaming on the Trentino Volley YouTube channel (www.trentinovolley.it/trentinovolleytv).
