Alex Reyes. And even if fate dealt him a low blow, with a bad injury on his very first outing of the season, the spiker smiles and looks forward: «I’m quite well, I no longer feel pain in my ankle. Luckily the problem was “softer” than it initially seemed. Now we need patience: I’m just thinking about recovering and getting back into shape.”
MORALE – The Italian-Cuban watched from the sidelines, and strictly wearing his game shirt, last Saturday’s unprecedented draw (2-2) between Belluno Volley and Volley Team Club San Donà: «My morale is always tall – resumes Alex -. Breaking down would make no sense: on the contrary, it would make the situation worse. The important thing is to live it well and let the doctors do their job as best as possible.”
MESSAGES – Reyes was literally inundated with messages and calls of all kinds: «I received many, many, many. And they made me happy. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to reply to everyone yet, but I will do so gradually. In particular, I felt the club was very close to me, as were my teammates. And this alleviated the discouragement.”
THE WARMTH OF UNCLES AND GIRLFRIEND – The twenty-three-year-old, who arrived last summer from Parma, is also surrounded by the warmth of his relatives: «My uncles are taking care of me, at the moment I live with them. And then I’m lucky enough to always have my girlfriend by my side. Despite the “sports misfortune”, I am happy to be able to count on so many people.” Alex stayed for three days at the “San Martino” hospital in Belluno: «I thank the doctors and, specifically, all the staff of the Orthopedics department. They were good, kind and professional.”
PATIENCE AND ENTHUSIASM – It’s still early to evaluate recovery times, but the spiker is already excited: «I can’t wait to get back. And I will do it with even more desire than before, also because I’m missing matches and training sessions. Patience is not lacking and neither is enthusiasm. See you soon, come on.”
