He carried out all the preparation with Serie A2 Tinet and in the end he convinced the staff led by Dante Boninfante. Twenty-one-year-old Sicilian Alex Aiello has no shortage of clear ideas. Those that made him cross the entire country to test himself in the yellow-blue shirt and win a Serie A2 shirt. By profession, Alex was born in Monza, where his relatives still live, but he took his first steps in volleyball in Sicily in Patti, in the province of Messina. He then played in Serie B at Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, then moving on to the youth team of Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia. From there the big leap to Serie A3 where, in the last two seasons, he wore the Avimecc Modica shirt.
“I am happy to have found an agreement with Prata, a company that immediately appeared to me to be well organised. The climate of the training sessions and their level is truly high and I am sure that with a technical staff like the one formed by Dante Boninfante and Samuele Papi I am sure that I will be able to improve my playing skills.”
What are your expectations for this season?
“Above all, take advantage of what I consider to be a great opportunity, always making myself ready to give my contribution in training and, if there is the possibility, obviously also on the pitch.”
More free from defense or receiving?
“At the moment I think I’m more skilled in defence, but this is a valid reason to train with even more intensity in defense too”
Off the field what do you like to do?
“I consider myself a very normal boy. When I’m at home I really love walking by the sea and obviously being with my friends. I like music and also sports, especially the NBA. I had my first impact with the splendid audience at the PalaPrata on Saturday and I can’t wait to see what they will be able to do to support us at the PalaCrisafulli in Pordenone”
“Aiello first won over the management staff and then above all the technical staff because he showed great tenacity and desire to wear the Tinet shirt – says the General Director Dario Sanna – his attitude and also the technical characteristics impressed our staff who considered him deserving of a chance and capable of making an excellent contribution for the team in the upcoming Serie A2 Credem Banca.”
