The European men’s volleyball championships ended on Saturday evening in a sold out venue at the PalaEur in Rome. They ended with the victory of Nikola Grbic’s Poland who defeated Fefè De Giorgi’s Italy in the final and with Slovenia overcame France in a tie break. They ended with the great public and volleyball spectacle seen in all the arenas visited by the competition, from Bologna to Perugia, from Ancona to Bari up to Rome. They closed, thinking about the roster of Sir Susa Vim Perugia, with five medals won by their players: the gold ones of Leon and Semeniuk, the silver ones of Giannelli and Russo and the bronze one of Ropret.
As great fans of the Italian national team, the small regret for the defeat in the final does not tarnish the satisfaction of having once again seen the blue team as an absolute protagonist on an international level, capable of making the many fans who packed the sports halls fall in love thanks to to the freshness and young age of the squad and thanks to the way of being on the pitch and wearing such an important shirt with pride.
