A few weeks before the start of the Serie A2 Credem Banca championship, the Delta Group Porto Viro made a coup on the international market: it signed the Brazilian spiker Pedro Henrique Ferreira Silva, born in 1996, 200 centimeters tall.
The new black and fuchsia signing, who participated in the World University Games with his country’s national team this summer, will immediately be available to coach Daniele Morato, who will be able to use him already on the first day of the regular season.
“I’m really happy and I can’t wait to join the team – these are Pedro’s words upon his arrival – I feel that this will be a great experience for my career, I accepted Delta’s proposal because I have always wanted to play in Italy, a country with a great volleyball tradition. I want to thank the club for making this dream of mine come true and for believing in me.”
Born in Maceió, north-eastern Brazil, Pedro played his first two senior seasons (2015/2016 and 2016/2017) for Kirin Campinas, with whom he played in the Brazilian Superliga and the Paulista championship. His next experience in the Superliga was with São Judas Voleibol in 2018/2019, then he moved to Portugal for two years, wearing the shirts of Clube Kairós and Esmoriz GC, both involved in the Primeira Divisão, the Portuguese top league. In 2021/2022 he returns to his homeland, joining Climed/Atibaia before heading to Europe again, this time to Spain, where he defends the colors of CV Haris in Superliga 2. In 2022/2023 he returns to Brazil and immediately wins promotion to the Superliga with Azulim Gabarito/Monte Carmelo. In 2023/2024 he was signed again by Climed/Atibaia before the call of Delta Group to the Italian Serie A2.
“I believe that this season will make me grow a lot, I am sure that I will be a different player after this experience – continues Pedro – The level of A2 is very high, all the teams are strong. I have high expectations, I want to help Delta stay as high as possible in the table and give joy to our fans. I know they are very passionate, I greet them all and wait to feel their warmth: together we can bring Porto Viro to the top”.
