Starting with this morning’s weight session the third week of preparation for Sir Susa Vim Perugia.
Usual routine of this phase for the Block Devils who will still alternate today and in the next few days physical work in the weight room and on the field under the orders of the athletic trainer Sebastian Carotti with technical and tactical activity following the directives of coach Angelo Lorenzetti and his staff. From this morning the team regained possession of the PalaBarton weight room while during the week, after the stage of the European Championships, the technical training will also return to take place on the central field of the Pian di Massiano facility.
To tell the state of the art, especially from an athletic point of view, it is Sebastian Carotti himself.
“First thing this morning I saw the guys happy to be back to work in the PalaBarton weight room. Speaking of the work done, after two weeks with high expectations the guys managed to do a wonderful job and I’m personally very happy with how everyone did it in a systematic and progressive way. Everyone works responsibly and grows day by day and this is an advantage for me and allows me to plan with peace of mind. I’m also happy with how they presented themselves at the rally. I have been in contact with them during the summer, they have developed an important pre-season work and have arrived in Perugia ready and fit to start preparation. What if someone surprised me? I was surprised by the young people who have joined us. At the beginning they were rightly a little messy in the work in the weight room but now, after two weeks, they have made a nice upgrade. I knew all the others except Wassim (Ben Tara, ed), who I see really likes working in the weight room, so I’m not surprised about them, but rather happy with how they work. In short, I must say that the first two weeks we lived together were really very good”.
The process of getting to know and integrating Carotti with his new reality is also proceeding quickly.
“I have always come here to Perugia as an opponent, my first match in Italy was at the PalaBarton and, except for the year of the covid, I have curiously always finished the season at the PalaBarton. I am very happy to be here now and so are my family. I am very focused on work, I come to the sports hall every day for the kids, I plan the activity and I always think of them to get them in shape at the beginning, during and at the end of the preparation, so that they are strong and explosive. It’s my responsibility and I feel capable of dealing with it.”
