On Sunday 27 August at 6pm, great volleyball returns to the city of Sabaudia with the Plus Volleyball meeting at the Hotel Zeffiro. After the summer break, Plus Volleyball Sabaudia is ready to embark on the adventure of the next Serie A3 Credem Banca championship. Helmsman of the Pontine team, as already announced in the month of July, was the technician of Marche origin Leondino Giombini.
Coach, what emerges from Sabaudia from the market choices made in the past month?
“We have tried to build a balanced team that brings together elements of proven experience such as Stefano Schettino, Samuel Onwuelo, Federico Mazza, Gianluca Bisci, Antonio De Paola, Jakub Urbanowicz, Armando De Vito, some of whom have already played in Sabaudia and therefore have experience of the building. Younger elements such as Francesco Andriola, Mario Catinelli, Mattia Della Rosa, Simone Crolla, who must be guided and helped to grow”.
What can you tell us about the championship?
“The championship is expected to be on average high, with teams that are candidates for promotion such as Fano and Macerata, but despite these objective difficulties I am very satisfied with the transfer market we have made”.
Without revealing too many details, what is your strategy for the coming season?
“Let’s start the championship and think about playing good volleyball and we will certainly get some satisfaction from ourselves”.
What audience do you expect?
“I know the area and the building. I expect a large audience even though I am aware that results are always important to the public. It is precisely by keeping these in view that we will work tirelessly”.
What is the calendar now?
“We will start on the 28th in the morning with weights, divided into two groups and in the afternoon with technique and athletics at the arena, this will last throughout the week. Saturday and Sunday free. The same for the following week and then the round of friendlies will begin”.
Remaining superstitious, in conclusion, which season do you expect?
“I expect first of all to entertain our audience with a good game and then certainly to take away our satisfaction because we are equipped to do it. We look forward to seeing you at PalaVitaletti!”.
