As usual for 12 years now, the new Volley Tricolore team met at Conad Le Querce for a welcome aperitif for the new team, which today, Monday 7 August, is leaving for the retreat in Felina until Sunday August 13th.
To inaugurate the start of the new season, the vice president Azzio Santini takes care of it: “We have built the best team we could afford, there are new faces, already known faces, and with great pleasure some comebacks. Our ambitions are to do well, to honor our shirt and the staff who work behind the scenes. Now that we are equipped, it is time to start”.
Samuele Rondanini, director of the structure, welcomes the team at the Conad Le Querce Superstore: “It’s nice to see historic players, but also to meet new ones; we are happy to continue with the traditional aperitif and we are proud to see you wearing the Conad name on your uniform. We hope that Conad can be a second home for you, I wish you all the best for the season and for the training camp that awaits you”.
Nicola Sesto, center back of the Reggio team, reveals his pride in wearing the captain’s armband: “For me it is truly a source of great pride. It’s a prestigious start, because it means that there are those who believe so much in me. This is a team with several experienced players, who I will definitely ask for a lot of support. Today we leave for Felina, where the foundations of knowledge are laid, this is a week in which there will be a lot of work, but we will also have side activities that will lead us to discover the wonders of the area”.
Head coach Fabio Fanuli concludes his speeches with his first impressions of the team that is meeting in front of him for the first time: “We’ve been building this team for some time now and for this reason I couldn’t wait to start working . I think a respectable roster has been set up, with the right mix of experience and young guys, who here in Reggio will have the opportunity to grow, to improve, to show what they’re made of too.
Today we leave for Felina which gives us the possibility to start with a good margin and therefore lighten the workload. I have noticed in recent years that this retreat is very important, in the sense that it gives us the opportunity to make ourselves known, but also to get to know our territory, our mountains and all the excellences that the province of Reggio has to offer”.
