The technical staff of Rana Verona is enriched by a new element. In fact, the arrival of Federico Fagiani as third coach of the team led by Radostin Stoytchev is official, who will be able to count on a collaborator who has gained important experience in many foreign leagues in recent years. Born in Rome on 19 August 1991, he graduated from the three-year degree at the “Foro Italico” Faculty of Motor Sciences and from the master’s degree in Physical activity and health promotion at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

Fagiani took his first steps in the world of volleyball in 2010 as assistant coach of the U14 team of M Roma Volley, before becoming head coach and athletic trainer of the U14-U15 team of Volley Anguillara from 2011 to 2015. In the following season he moved to Spain, going to take on the role of coach of the U16 Women’s Ucam Voleibol Murcia, of which he is also assistant of the first team. In 2017 he moved to coach the Middelfart Volleyball Club, in Denmark, finishing in second place and receiving the “Coach of the Year” award.

A year later he receives the call from the Rising Sun, in the role of assistant coach of JTEKT Stings, a militant team in the Japanese first division, with which he boasts the national title in 2020 and also conquers the Emperor’s Cup. In 2021 the Roman coach is promoted to head coach of the Japanese troop, a role he held for two seasons, adding a second Emperor’s Cup to his bulletin board and wearing a silver medal in the Kurowashiki Cup around his neck. Furthermore, between 2015 and 2018 he was also assistant coach of the U19 and U17 selections of the Italian national team.

“I am happy to join Rana Verona’s staff and it was enough for me to be shown the Club’s project to understand the Club’s ambitions and objectives – said Federico Fagiani – Rado (Stoytchev, ed) and Gengy (Marchesi, ed) they explained that they were looking for a figure to be included in the technical staff and from their words I understood that it would have been the right choice. I will have the opportunity to work with competent colleagues who have a long history in the Italian championship. For me it will be the first year in SuperLega and I hope that the experiences I have gained so far will help me to get into the mechanisms of the most important tournament in the world as soon as possible. I’m really happy to embark on this new adventure, an important step in my career, and I can’t wait to get started. Come on Verona”.
