There is great enthusiasm at Cisterna Volley for the prestigious results that Bayram Efe is achieving with the Turkish national team. In just a few weeks, the hitter from the Pontine team lifted two international cups, always living the appointments as a protagonist with the Turkish selection led on the bench by the Italian coach Alberto Giuliani: first the European Golden League at the tie-break in the final against Ukraine and, in Doha, the Fivb Volleyball Challenger Cup, always to the last breath, in the match against the hosts of Qatar. With this latest victory, the Turkish national team also snatches the ticket for access to the Volleyball Nations League and thus, from 2024 Bayram Efe will also be able to have his say in Vnl.

«I am very happy and proud of how things went this summer which for me was full of commitments with the national team, I am convinced that every match has been an important moment of growth for our team but also for me on a personal level – explains the Turkish hammer of the pontine formation – In Qatar we played a great tournament, the matches were difficult but in the end we won and I’m very happy for my nation too. On more than a few occasions we had failed to gain access to the VNL but we finally deserved it and this is the thing that matters most of all”.

In the semifinal, Turkey beat Plotnytskyi’s Ukraine also thanks to 10 balls put down by Bayram Efe, while in the final (won in a tie-break), the fourth place of Cisterna Volley scored 18 points, attacking with 40% and also the best of his from the nine-metre line with three aces and 42% receiving as well as three winning blocks.

«To be honest, I didn’t expect to have to play such difficult matches in this competition: first the victory in the fifth set against Ukraine and then the extremely complicated final against the hosts of Qatar, a team that plays really well and it proved to be very fearsome and even led us to play badly in some moments of the match – concludes the player – Then we were good at recovering and ending the match with a very important victory».
