Cuneo Volley closes volleyball market with a big shot! The Greek spiker Charalampos Andreopoulos arrives from the Superleague of Taranto.

Born in 2001, the Greek athlete is in his second season in Italy, after an already important presence in the Serie A championship in his homeland and having represented his national team at the 2021 European Championship. At Panathinaikos Athens, his Club before joining in the Italian league, he was coached by his father, coach of the first team.

« Cuneo is one of the clubs I watched grow, it’s a great honor to be part of this group. I support the team’s effort to return to the best level and I will be happy to join the group and help in my own way. I chose by myself, I didn’t ask anyone about my move to Cuneo, but surely everyone knows the qualities of the team and the city; it is a historic square with a large fan base that understands volleyball. The coach and I discussed the team’s plans and I’m happy that we are on the same course. Our goal will be to work hard to achieve the best possible results and create a good understanding between us. The team’s goals also become my personal goals. We want to have our say in A2 and get some satisfaction.” – the first words of Charalampos Andreopoulos as a player from Cuneo.

« I was very impressed by him watching him play; I had already seen him in Greece and after his performances in some matches this year in the Superlega in Taranto, he convinced me that he is the player with the right human characteristics for a difficult season like the one ahead. He is a warrior, a fighter, a player used to taking responsibility, who plays volleyball very well and who has the qualities needed to make a difference. With his arrival we have a very high-profile spiker department and this will help both the training phase and the consequent growth of the team, as well as the possibility of managing all the various moments of the season.” – coach Matteo Battocchio.
