The new Geetit setter of the future comes from Lombardy: Francesco Minelli, born in 2002 and native of Bologna, moved to Milan a few months after his birth, where he has spent the last twenty years. Francesco began his career in 2020 with the Milanese Serie B team Sitprime Bresso, and then moved to Moyashi Garlasco in the 22/23 season, for his first experience in Serie A3 Credem Banca.
Called by the rossoblu staff to be Sitti’s deputy, the young director is ready for a new challenge, made up of growth and ambitions. “Last year when we met in the league it seemed like a very combative, determined and close-knit team, but the final decision was made after talking to coach Marco Marzola: I understood it was the right place to learn, because I like his philosophy of play and this team spirit, even if I expect to train very hard.”
Although he has never lived in Bologna, Francesco is enthusiastic about his move: “I consider it an integral part of my roots, it has always seemed to me a fascinating and particular city. I am happy to have this new experience, and I am thrilled at the idea of wearing the red and blue colors.
Not only volleyball in Minelli’s life, but also a passion for football: “I support Bologna Football Club and I won’t miss the opportunity to go to the stadium, I’m proud to wear the same colors as the BFC”.
There is also a lot of enthusiasm towards the roster that is taking shape: “I see a very young team, but full of experience even in higher categories. They seem like excellent people, determined and ambitious: now all you need to do is find the right alchemy!”
