Volley Parma announces that in the next 2023/2024 football season it will participate, for the second consecutive year, in the national championship of Serie A3 Credem Banca with the new name of WiMORE Salsomaggiore and, due to the renovation works that will make the PalaRaschi in Parma unusable , will play its home games at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Salsomaggiore Terme. The partnership between the Gialloblù company and the spa town gave life to the WiMORE Salsomaggiore project which was presented and illustrated in detail during the press conference held on Friday 30 June at the Il Poggio winery on the Salso hills. “There has been a long reflection regarding this new season that is just around the corner – the words of the new managing director of WiMORE Salsomaggiore, Alessandro Grossi – at the corporate level we had to evaluate several logistical and organizational aspects, linked to the fact of no longer having available the PalaRaschi in Parma which was one of the key elements of our rise in Serie A. We found ourselves a bit taken aback and for several months we tried to study alternative solutions, mainly in the city so as not to have to leave the heart of the club , the project and where the largest number of our youth teams are located. Given the impossibility of using another building in the city, we considered the hypothesis of moving to the province and that of Salsomaggiore immediately appeared to be the only real solution of quality and perspective for this two-year period that we are about to experience. The Salsomaggiore facility is beautiful, spacious and of a higher rank than the A3 Series, the new administration welcomed us in the best way from the first meeting and we hope to be able to contribute to the mechanisms for relaunching the country in terms of tourism and interest”. The almost completely renewed team, which will be led by coach Alberto Raho, is ready to face a thick championship, closed, in its absolute debut, in sixth place in the Regular Season with the subsequent elimination in the Quarter Finals of the Promotional Play Offs. “Parma’s PalaRaschi, thanks to the record numbers and attendances of last season, had become a notable force within our seasonal budget – continues Grossi – lacking some certainties, we reasoned whether it was the case to start again from a new “year zero” in terms of logistics.
