It’s official: Axel Truhtchev is a new spiker for Rana Verona. The class of ’95 comes from the Neftochimik Burgas team, with which he graduated as Bulgarian Champion a few weeks ago. In the last match, which decreed the victory of the title, Truhtchev scored 19 points, being elected MVP of the match. The Frenchman thus arrives in Italy for the first time and joins the band department of the team coached by Coach Stoytchev.
During his career he wore various shirts, winning the bronze medal at the Bulgarian Cup and the silver one at the Super Cup, both in the season that just ended. With his national team, he finished third at the U20 European Championship in 2014.
“I am very happy to have arrived at Rana Verona. For me it represents an important stage in my career and a few words with coach Stoytchev were enough to agree to be part of this very ambitious project. Besides reaching the most competitive championship in the world this is a great opportunity. When opportunities like this arise, you have to seize them. I will try to give my best. I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and start this adventure”, these are the words of the new signing of Verona Volley.
Full satisfaction also for sporting director Gian Andrea Marchesi: “Truhtchev is a profile we have been following for some time and which we have identified to strengthen our offensive department. It has characteristics that go perfectly with our way of playing. He will have the opportunity to demonstrate all his worth and winning the championship in Bulgaria as a protagonist is an excellent business card with which to introduce himself to new fans. Welcome Axel!”.
