Misericordia e Pubblica Assistenza will still be at the side of Emma Villas Volleyball also in the next sports season. The two voluntary associations will continue to provide their important contribution in the days of the home challenges of Tuscan education and beyond. The third sector, even in sport, confirms its fundamental and crucial role: volunteers are present at every match of the Emma Villas Volleyball to guarantee and ensure their medical-health support in any eventuality. It is the social fabric, and in this case the voluntary nature of the territory, which is close to the sporting and volleyball reality that has been playing in Serie A of Italian volleyball for almost ten years.
“We have always been close to the sporting realities of the city and the territory – comments Paolo Almi, administrator of the Misericordia of Siena. – We will continue to be so also in the future because this is part of our mission and our daily work. We do it despite the many problems that we find ourselves having to face every day”. Problems relating to what is defined as the “crisis of vocations” in the field of solidarity, and without forgetting the questions of the resources available, which are never sufficient for all the work that is required overall from voluntary associations. Superintendent Almi affirms: “At least one rescuer driver and two rescuers are always needed in all of our sporting services. In general, the number of volunteers available continues to decrease and I believe that the work carried out by third sector associations should be more appreciated in the local community. We will continue, as mentioned, to stay close to Sienese sports realities and it would be nice if some young sportsmen approached the world of volunteering. We carry out a huge job, from the management of the monumental cemetery to services for the elderly up to all health services. We will still do sports reports because sports are a great thing. As a young man I practiced athletics, the passion for sport in me has never faded “.
