Go ahead with the young line. After Vedovotto for the role of Sports Director, Delta Group Porto Viro is betting strongly on an under 35 profile also for the bench: Daniele Morato, born in 1989, is officially the new nerofucsia head coach.
Originally from Colico, in the province of Lecco, Morato had his first experience in Serie A2 Credem Banca last season in Bergamo, initially as Gianluca Graziosi’s deputy, then, from March – after the coach from the Marches was sacked – as first coach. A change at the helm that made the fortune of the Orobics, capable of closing the regular season with four victories in the last five rounds and then riding up to the final playoffs, moreover eliminating Porto Viro in the quarterfinals.
Not that Morato’s impact on the fate of Bergamo can be defined as a surprise, his name, in fact, has already been on the list of the most promising Italian coaches for some years. Raised under the wing of the “maestro” Danilo Durand, Morato won a lot at youth level with the Diavoli Rosa di Brugherio (of which he was a player for a long time), from the last two consecutive Under 17 championships and an Under 20 Junior League. parallel also the collaborations with the Federation, in increasingly important positions: provincial selector for the Monza and Brianza Committee, regional selector of the Lombardy Committee, North area collaborator for the national men’s selections, second coach of the National Allievi.
The curriculum already says a lot about the new Delta Group coach, the rest was told by Morato himself in his first hours in Porto Viro: “I’m very ambitious and determined, but first of all I’m a huge volleyball fan, I want to make this sport the my job and I consider myself lucky because right now I’m succeeding – he says – I’m still at the beginning of my journey, this is a very important opportunity for me, I will give my heart and soul to make the most of it and help the company obtain the best results possible”.
