Gioiella Prisma Taranto has chosen its setter. The Spanish Ángel Trinidad de Haro will be the new rossoblù setter, who will have the task of orchestrating all the carefully selected attack terminals for this new 2023-24 project.
Born in 1993, from Estepona, Spain, 1.95 m tall, Trinidad de Haro arrives on the shores of the Ionian after the recent victory of the German Bundesliga championship with the Berlin Recycling Volleys shirt, with which he was crowned champion of Germany (conquering a treble of trophies) after having played two seasons in Poland at Projekt Warszawa, and having played in various European championships (including also the Italian Serie A, in 2013-2014 in Vibo), in France and Belgium in Tours and Roeselare, in Poland to Warsaw and Germany to Charlottenburg. In his curriculum also a previous experience in Germany in 2014-2015 with the Buhl shirt.
With the Spanish national team he played all the under 19 and 20 tournaments with which he won the World Cup and the European Championships, also conquering the title of best setter. Enlisted by the senior national team since 2011, he took part in the Mediterranean Games in 2018.
Once again, President Bongiovanni’s club has chosen an athlete who has hard work and a great team spirit in his DNA and who loves the public for special occasions: in fact, in Berlin, the Max-Schmeling-Halle is one of the best arenas of Europe with an overwhelming atmosphere. He has a fast game, good serve and a strong block.
“Playing in Italy is always a privilege – says De Haro – 10 years have passed since I started my professional career in 2013 in Vibo Valentia. Coming full circle with this possibility of returning to Italy makes me really excited. The Superlega is together with the Plusliga the strongest competition in Europe, so I didn’t hesitate to accept Taranto’s offer. I follow the Italian league every season and I like the project that Gioiella Prisma is building: I can’t wait to start working with my new teammates and meet the fans. I will try to bring all the experience I have acquired during my career and the countries where I have played, Italy, Germany, Belgium, France and Poland.”
